I'd just like to also warn folks of supposed breeder Debbie Rondeau of Wagin Tails. I too have a similar story that of others that have been deceived / scammed by this lady. My fiance and I put $400 down for a female West Highland White Terrier in December 2005. She sent us a photo of the supposed puppy. I had requested photos of the puppy with her mom, brothers, and sisters a few times....but Debbie said her camera was broke...so never received one.

A day before we were supposed to pick-up the puppy. Debbie called and said the puppy wasn't eating. A couple more weeks went by and hear nothing from Debbie....so I e-mail her...she indicates the puppy died. At this point I ask for a refund of our deposit of $400. She indicates she doesn't do refunds but assures me another litter is coming within a few weeks.

Well a few months (not a few weeks) go by. I notice on her website several Westies listed as available....so e-mail her....she indicates she is selling them for a friend at $1,000 each. She mentions a previous litter had only 5 male puppies. A couple weeks later I notice she no longer has a West Highland White Terrier section on her www.wagintails.com site. I e-mail her and ask why.....and Debbie indicates they are designing a new website.

In the spring....Debbie indicates a female was born out of a litter but was very small so probably wouldn't make it.

A few more weeks go by ....again I e-mail her for an update......she indicates the small femal puppy died.....I then tell her at this point a male or female puppy will do.

I then wait a few more months....August she indicates we are on a waiting list for a male puppy. I again request photos of the puppy with her family....but never get one. Now it is September ...the puppy is 10 weeks old according to the birthdate she gave..I e-mail Debbie....and she indicates the puppy hasn't weaned yet....that it would be a couple more weeks.

Now it is the end of September....it has been approximately 10 long months since we first contacted the breeder from hell. At this point I'm pretty fed up with all of the excuses. I again asked for a refund of our deposit. Again, Debbie states she doesn't give refunds. Ironically, she indicates the puppy is now ready. At this point we're a bit worried if indeed a puppy exists.....how healthy is it ...since Debbie indicated the previous two puppies (if they really ever existed) we were on the wait list for died. We tell her ....we would just like our $400 deposit back.....if she has no problem selling her puppies she shouldn't have a problem refunding our deposit....again she says she doesn't give refunds.....we let her know we don't want the dog if there actually is one....and she now says she will sell the dog for us and give us our money back.....which basically sounds like another excuse/lie/stall tactic.

I have since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against this lady simply asking for our $400 deposit to be refunded. I highly doubt Debbie will refund our money.....I would think any other reputable person would....but not this lady. She has until 9/24/06 to respond.

Just to see if she is telling the truth on the puppy....I recently e-mailed her asking for an updated photo of the puppy with her and a sign with the date written on it to prove a puppy really exists....I have not gotten a response since.

My next step is to file a lawsuit against her in Small Claims Court.

This was supposed to be a happy event for our family..getting our first puppy..but all it has been a terrible ordeal because of Debbie Rondeau. I hope people read this as well as all of the other Remove Rip Off Report articles about this lady. She is definitely a scammer.

Update 9/21/06

Debbie did finally send me a photo of the puppy but now is not willing to provide any veterinarian papers on this puppy's health status. We are a bit leary of accepting a pet from this lady....especially since the two previous puppy's we were waiting for died. As it stands right now.....Debbie is still trying to sell the puppy.....and promises to refund our $400 deposit and $30 AKC registration once she does. We'll wait and see what happens. Wagin Tails Debbie Rondeau Update

It is now October 5, 2006. Debbie Rondeau of Wagin Tails still has not refunded our original deposit of $400 she promised back at the beginning of September. I believe the only way we will get this matter resolved is to file a lawsuit against this women. Hopefully she'll learn her lesson and not ripoff/scam other folks out there. 1/4/07 Wagin Tails Update

Well it is now January of 2007....Debbie Rondeau still has not refunded our deposit. We filed a small claims suit against her in Deschutes county however the sheriff could not serve the suit because Debbie had moved. I e-mailed Debbie about this....of course she would not contact the sheriff, court house, or provide her physical address. Big suprise there. We're now going to look into hiring a legal firm to track her down/collect. If this is the stuff you'd like to deal with by all means ....try and buy a puppy from this lady. debbie was my stepmom little doe everyone know she also stole my father when he passed away recently & w/o any notice of illness prior. she also said heleft no will which was bullst!! enough about this if anyone wants to locate her call me at (((ROR REDACTED PHONE NUMBER AND E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR SECURITY PURPOSES))) sorry for all those who may be involved about this bch.
